Build Storage Cabinet With Doors

I show you how i built a large storage cabinet with doors for my garage.

Build storage cabinet with doors. Figuring the length of the rails is more complicated. Build the front of the frame in the same pattern as the back 8 feet wide and 8 feet tall. I needed to organize my garage so i build some large storage cabinet with doors. Cut plywood to make the doors to fit these openings.

For each one you ll need two stiles the vertical parts two rails the horizontal parts and one panel. Position the doors over the hinges using shims to maintain a 1 8 in. Cut the doors and set them in place to check the fit before banding the edges. Center the doors on the cabinet with a 1 8 inch space between them.

Make a list of the parts of your diy shaker cabinet doors before you begin. Use clamps or weights to hold the doors in place. This will give you two 3 feet wide cabinets on the ends and a 2 foot wide cabinet in the middle. Make four or more or less shelves to add to the unit.

Take the height of the door you want and add 1 8 in. To determine the length measure the cabinet opening and add 3 4 in. To frame out the cabinets secure 8 foot 2x4s perpendicular at 36 across and 60 across. Measure how tall you need the bottom shelf and mark for reference.

The 1x2 in the front should form a lip to prevent things from sliding off easily.
